After 3 months, we surveyed staff and fiscally sponsored projects to surface impacts, challenges and learnings from the trial, and found unanimous support for a continuation of the 4-day workweek on the CS&S core team.
In 2023, the programs team at Code for Science & Society has engaged open source communities of practice developing modeling tools for Climate Sensitive Infectious Diseases (CSID). We are excited to share a landscaping report produced from this engagement.
In 2023, CS&S Senior Program Manger Miliaku Nwabueze curated and facilitated the speaking series called “Courageous Conversations” where open-source technologists and scientists, solidarity economy ecosystem nerds, co-ops, lawyers, farmers, and frontline activists discussed the co-optation of disruption in open tech. The reverberation throughout the series was that ‘life’ is simply what we’re fighting for.
